Course description

This qualification represents the role of professionals working in various community settings and individuals’ homes, providing support that empowers people with disabilities to enhance their independence, self-reliance, community participation, and overall well-being. These workers adopt a person-centred approach, adhere to individualised plans, and may contribute to their development. They operate without direct supervision and may also be responsible for supervising or coordinating a small team.

The competencies gained through this qualification must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian standards, and industry codes of practice.

At the time of publication, no specific licensing, legislative, regulatory, or certification requirements apply to this qualification.

Course Requirements

     •⁠ ⁠For Packaged courses, the student cannot progress to the higher qualification unless the student has (successfully) completed the lower qualification.
     •⁠ ⁠⁠Be at least 18 years of age to get enrolled in any course

Assessments Methods

Assessments may include short written knowledge tests, discussions and oral communication demonstrations, case study exercises, written reports, web based research and reports, final projects and final written exams. To perform at your best, you will probably need to work on the assessments outside of class time.
