Course Description

This qualification prepares individuals to become educators in early childhood education and care settings regulated under Australian standards. Graduates will be equipped to support children’s wellbeing, learning, and development in alignment with an approved learning framework.

Educators develop and apply a broad range of skills and knowledge, exercising sound judgment and discretion within established policies and procedures. They may work independently or under supervision, which may not always be on-site.

Career opportunities include working in long day care centres, family day care, pre-schools, or kindergartens.

To successfully complete this qualification, learners must undertake a minimum of 160 hours of practical work placement in a regulated children’s education and care service in Australia, as outlined in the assessment requirements of the relevant units of competency. These hours can be accumulated across various units.

At the time of publication, there are no specific occupational licensing, certification, or legislative requirements attached to this qualification.
