Course Description

This qualification is designed for individuals working in community, home, or residential care settings, providing person-centred support under supervision and delegation as part of a multidisciplinary team. Support is delivered in line with individualised care plans to people who may require assistance due to ageing, disability, or other reasons.

Workers operate within the scope of their role and delegation, taking responsibility for their own outputs. They possess a combination of factual, technical, procedural, and some theoretical knowledge essential to delivering effective, person-centred support.

All skills must be applied in accordance with relevant Commonwealth and State or Territory legislation, Australian standards, and industry codes of practice.

To complete this qualification, learners must undertake a minimum of 120 hours of practical work as specified in the assessment requirements of the units of competency.

At the time of publication, there are no licensing, legislative, regulatory, or certification requirements for this qualification.

Course Requirements

     •⁠ ⁠For Packaged courses, the student cannot progress to the higher qualification unless the student has (successfully) completed the lower qualification.
     •⁠ ⁠⁠Be at least 18 years of age to get enrolled in any course

Assessments Methods

Assessments may include short written knowledge tests, discussions and oral communication demonstrations, case study exercises, written reports, web based research and reports, final projects and final written exams. To perform at your best, you will probably need to work on the assessments outside of class time.
